Being a frequent and avid traveler, Shailja Patel has experienced her share of borders. It’s no wonder she brings a keen worldly perspective to her role as Senior Director in Trowbridge’s Private Client Individual Tax Services team. Shailja is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA with more than 20 years of experience in Canadian and U.S. personal income tax compliance and consulting. In addition to her in-depth tax knowledge, Shailja’s degree and training in clinical psychology provide her with a unique understanding of human behaviour which she applies in her daily interaction with clients and colleagues.

Shailja’s experience includes compliance, planning, and advisory on cross-border tax issues for the mobile executive as well as owner-managed businesses, partnerships, and trusts. She also has extensive experience in taxation matters relating to trust, corporate reporting, expatriation tax, and other cross-border tax issues.
